- MTA Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee Conference
The EMAC conference offers participants the opportunity to engage in discussions about white privilege and racism, ethnic and racial identity, and economic and social justice. The conference uses workshops, presentations and entertainment to inspire participants to work on ideas for action and to bring those ideas back to their locals, classrooms and communities. - MTA Virtual Summer Conference
In addition to our usual union education and professional development sessions, the MTA's first-ever Virtual Summer Conference will span for several weeks and provide many wonderful new offerings, including a speaker series, town halls, movie nights, and more! The RA is the largest democratic deliberative assembly in the world where NEA members use their your voices to help adopt policy and chart the direction of NEA business. Statewide and regional delegates are elected to represent the MTA at the NEA RA. o run as a local delegate to Annual Meeting, speak with your local president and vice president in January. - MTA Annual Meeting of Delegates
Each May, the MTA convenes an Annual Meeting at which delegates from across the state gather to set policy, vote on Bylaws, Standing Rules and Resolutions, elect members to the Board, vote on the budget and approve new business items. Most delegates represent their locals and are elected locally. In addition, there are statewide retiree and regional ethnic minority delegates.To run as a local delegate to Annual Meeting, speak with your local president and vice president in January.
